Default Highlighting cells - Mouse sticking??

When I am in Excel the mouse appears to be sticking and highlighting all
cells as if I am holding down the shift key. The keyboard does not work
either. Thinking that it could be a mouse or keyboard problem I logged into
another user and it works fine. I have to log off Excel from the bottom task
bar as I can't use any of the Excel functions. Any suggestions at to what the
problem is???

Most often caused by hitting the F8 key and putting yourself into "Extended
Mode".

If you see EXT on status bar hit F8 again to clear.

Another fix can be tapping, quite vigorously, the wheel on your wheelie-mouse a
few times.

It is odd that the roller was stuck as it didn't happen when I logged in as
another user, but that did it.
thanks
