I've read all the posts I could find, so I know I'm not the only user with a
problem. The only way that I can get a date to show up in a format that
normal humans can read and interpret is to format the whole column as text
and type in the whole thing manually... talk about inefficiency!

Tried a custom format, tried formats I didn't really want to use, tried
everything! Is Microsoft aware of the fact that the ability to have today's
date display as '06/21/2007' instead of '39254' seems to be totally gone?

I've just wasted an entire morning trying to set up a spreadsheet with
meaningful dates. I give up! Will type them all as text, then copy and
paste...or hand code them into an html/xlm document-which I could probably do
in half the time!

Any suggestions will be helpful... or just let me know if I've come up with
the only suggestion that will actually display a date in the desired format.
Wouldn't that be a hoot!
