Default How can I make it stop automatically converting text to tables?

I was importing tables from pdf so they are imported as text - so there are a
bunch of words and numbers in each cell. The cells are stacked (i.e. the
entire 1st row is condensed to the 1st cell, the 2nd to the 2nd cell, etc.)
This is fine. That is how I expected it to import.
Then, I select this column of cells and 'convert text to table'
I separated the words/numbers as 'delimited' by spaces. It worked ok, but is
a little annoying when a cell in the table is supposed to have more than one
word.

Anyway, the real problem is that now everything I import is automatically
being converted to table and I don't know how to make it stop doing that! I
am now just trying to paste a sentence, not a table! So it is putting every
word of the sentence in an individual cell and there is no 'convert table to
text'. I need this to not be automatic. It is not that difficult to convert
text to tables on an as-needed basis.

Even trying to paste a sentence from another cell to a new cell is causing
each word to be pasted in its own cell.

Select a cell and try to parse the data again. THis time turn off all the
delimiters you set before.
