Default Pivot Chart not filtering properly

Hi folks,

2003 works but 2007 doesn't.

2003 - PivotTable is too wide for Excel with no filter applied. Excel
displays error and tries to calculate on as much data as possible. This is
fine. Chart also reflects this. Apply a filter and chart is fine. Change
chart to have no filter and chart displays all data possible. Filter in chart
and table both work ok.

2007 (compatability mode) - Same error message with PivotTable, which is ok.
But chart display is incorrect. Apply a filter and chart is fine. Change
chart to have no filter and chart display doesn't change - weird?

Have recreated and also created in native 2007 mode, but with same problems.
Any ideas?

TIA,

PIers
