I'm trying to multiply a word count in 50rows by $.07. I've put .07 in
random cell, copy, select word count column, paste special then it goes to a box that says: Paste Special, either Unicode text or text. When I did get it to multiply once, it covered the word count column and I didn't know how to get it into the Total column. I have to show both columns. Help! |

![]() If I understand you, you have a column of numbers that you want to keep and you want to create a column of numbers which is the first column multiplied by 7c. Can't you use simple =a2*.07 and copy down? -- Don Guillett SalesAid Software "jackievar" wrote in message ... I'm trying to multiply a word count in 50rows by $.07. Each column has a different number to multiply by .07. I can't figure out
how to copy down to get it to do each number differently. It keeps putting the first total in all columns. If you are getting the wrong Paste Special options as you state, this often
occurs when you are pasting from an external source or from one instance of Excel to another instance. Where are the operations you describe taking place? All within one worksheet? Yes. I'm trying to multiply a word count of say 4915 words by $0.07 per word
and it's all on one worksheet in two differenct columns.
