Check marks
Select the range
Format|cells|number tab|custom category In the "type:" box, put this: alt-0252;alt-0252;alt-0252;alt-0252 And format that range of cells as Wingdings (make it as large as you want) Or, alternately, use an 'a' (that is, a lower case "A") and format the cell as Marlett to get a 'real' check mark.
