Default mail merge-formatted numbers

When I used mail merge to merge my letter to my database (spreadsheet), the
numbers that were formatted with two decimal points, the numbers (example)
112.50 appear as 112.5077777777. Why don't the numbers appear as they have
been forwatted? What do I need to do to make them appear as formatted?

There's an article on the Microsoft web site that might help you:

Answer Box: Numbers don't merge right in Word

And if you prefer the old Mail Merge helper, Word MVP Suzanne Barnhill
has instructions he

about half way down the page.

Thanks for your comment. I didn't have this problem until we upgraded to
Office 2003. I have formatted, clicked, read, and reread items but still have
the problem. I will keep trying but if anyone has encountered this same
problem, please let me know. We do have an IT Dept. and a Technical Trainer
but no one has the answer.

You are using MSWord's mailmerge, right?

Did you use MSWord's Mergefield?

Did it look like:
{MERGEFIELD "Price" \# $#,###.00}

You may want to share what you tried.

=====
You could always use another column in excel and a formula like:
=text(a1,"$#,###.00")
or whatever format you want.
