Your question is not clear. "General" is a display format, while IEEE 754 is
a method of storing a number. Please clarify what you want. http://www.cpearson.com/excel/rounding.htm gives details on IEEE 754 double precision storage. Single precision is similar, but with 8 bits (11 for DP) for the exponent and 23 bits (52 for DP) for the mantissa. Jerry "staff" wrote: importing and exporting.
