Hi Folks,
I know that in the old days you could turn on the display of menu hotkeys on a MAC - identical to the underscore of the letter F in File, E in Edit.... I also know there are hotkeys for MAC dialog boxes, but how do you get these hot keys to show which letter is the accelerator (underscore on the PC)? And while I'm on the subject - how does one access the menu system on the MAC via the keyboard without creating a custom assignment? Thanks, Shane Devenshire |

MacXL hasn't used menu hotkeys since XL98. Instead, nearly every command
can have custom hotkeys assigned. To access the menu system on the Mac (universally, in all applications), look at Universal Access in Mac Help. It's not quite the same as the WinOffice approach, but it's similar. Thanks,
But that's a bummer since the dialog boxes still have hot keys but you can't tell what they are. I'll have to look at the Universal Access but I don't think I saw something in there which let you use the menus from the keyboard. -- Thanks, Shane Devenshire "JE McGimpsey" wrote: MacXL hasn't used menu hotkeys since XL98. Try turning on the Keyboard Navigation keys in System
Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse/Keyboard Shortcuts... In article , ShaneDevenshire wrote: But that's a bummer since the dialog boxes still have hot keys but you can't tell what they are.
