Default How to change rows, columns to alpha numerical

The column and row labels/titles in excel are now both numerical instead of
alpha numerical. The top left hand cell reads R1C1 instead of A1. How do I
change it back?

Tools/ Options/ General
Uncheck: R1C1 reference style.

Try:-

Tools|Options|General and un-check R1C1
