Default How do I keep the cell colour fill when pasting in text?

I need to be able to copy and paste text from e.g. word or emails, into my
spreadsheet but when I do, it changes the fill colour back to white - how to
I lock the fill colour, or is there soemthing else I can do without changing
the theme?

Thanks

hi.
you are probably useing the paste all command.
word and emails usually don't have a background color so when you paste so
when you paste, you paste what's on the clipboard.
to keep your color's in excel, try this...
EditPasteSpecial.
I think the one you want is pastespecial Values.
There is an icon from the customize box you can put on your tool bars if you
do this enough. unfortunately the icon is text only. you can create an icon
for it if your are good with bitmaps.

Ben and Fst1

When copying data from an external source you get different choices with Paste
Special.

Unicode Text or Text from an email.

From Word you get a few other choices like paste as picture or word object, none
of them being Paste Values. That is only available within Excel.
