Default Date Format Question

I currently have a spreadsheet that has a field containing a date in the
wrong format. EX.19830228.

The correct format should be 2/28/1983.

I've tried text to columns, but that doesn't help. Can you please help.

Thank you

Default Date Format Question

Text to columns works fine, you need to use YMD from the dropdown in step 3
under column data format. Always use the date format that the wrong date
comes in, that way it will be converted to the correct date format according
to your regional settings
