I am trying to learn Excel and am working on a project and am stuck. I have
in Cell G4 the number 9 (number of homework assignments completed) Then in cell E19 the number 12 (the number of required assignments) In cell E20 is the number 2 (penalty for each missing assignment) and in cell E21 (Bonus for each additional assignment) I need to determine the bonus or penalty and place that number in H4. I had it once, I got -6 for my answer. I accidentally deleted my formula before I entered it and frankly have no idea how I got there to begin with. Can someone help and explain for me? Thanks in advance |

=(G4-E19)*E20

Here's one way:
=(COUNT(G4,E19)=2)*(G4-E19)*IF(G4<E19,E20,E21) Biff "Caribbrz" wrote in message ... I am trying to learn Excel and am working on a project and am stuck. This is close, but I appeared to have left out an important step. I will
need to fil down to copy into other cells....the other numbers that reside in column G are more than, less than, or equal to the required amount of assignments. I think I need to add some kind of mixed reference or absolute reference somewhere. "T. Yeah!!! I figured it out. Thanks for your help. I did need to add the
absolute references to by numbers for the cells in column E. Yes! Thanks for the help! "Caribbrz" wrote: This is close, but I appeared to have left out an important step. I got it! Yes...Thank you. I did need to add the absolute reference to the
