One way:

difference between 03:30:00 01/25/2007 and 05:30:00 01/27/2007
Enter your values in A1 and A2 as a real date, then a space character, then the

As always, if you are doing a calculation it doesn't matter what format the
source cells are using to *display* the data; what does matter is that the data values in the cells are stored as Excel's date and time.
