Default Sum using mouse

Hi guys, I am trying to re-establish the SUM function in the bottom menu bar
in Excel ,,,,, used to be there , no idea why it's not anymore ,,, anyway , I
have tried right clicking which should give me a menu showing various
function , such as SUM , COUNT etc but the only menu I get is the Toolbar for
establishing smart icons ,, anyone got any ideas how I get the SUM in the
bottom menu bar again ?

Has your IT department recently "optimized your computing experience to
enhance productivity"?

Seriously though - is your status bar is there with the display of
NumLock/CapsLock and all that? I know my IT department removed mine for some
reason one time...
