colour in a formula
 
Hi there, I am trying to apply a colur that is contained in one workbook to
another workbook. This would be similar to a legend whereby the colour
format for name a in workbook one shows the same colour format in workbook 2
and then again for name b and name c and so on. The colur changes from name
to name, so it is simply automatically transpoing the info, just not sure how
to

You can copy and paste (or paste special|values and formats). But if you're
retrieving the value using a formula, then you've seen that formulas don't
retrieve formats. Excel just doesn't work that way.

You can't link color. You can use Conditional Formats. That is color a cell
based upon its contents. See:
