Default Shared workbook start up problem

We are using a shared workbook that is updated by multiple people. When one
of our users opens the file, all columns and rows that have been hidden and
saved that way, are automatically unhidden when it is opened and it adds a
freeze pane. No other users have this problem. I can't find any settings
that address this. Any suggestions on why this is happening?

No one ever replied, so we had to just unshare the workbook for this person
to update it.
