Restrict drop downs
Hello - in an effort to make information uniform, I have a worksheet set up
with drop-down options for several columns. I'd like to be able to restrict users to ONLY be able to select from the drop-downs, but currently they can also type anything they want into the cell directly. Thanks! |

Look up Validate in Help, click the "Prevent invalid data entry in a
worksheet" link. Nicholas Erwin wrote: Hello - in an effort to make information uniform, I have a worksheet set up with drop-down options for several columns. Restrict drop downs
Make sure the error alert is set for the drop downs.
Select a cell with a drop down Goto DataValidationError alert tab Check: Show error alert after invalid data is entered Note that this will still *not stop* someone from copying/pasting or draggging and dropping into this cell.
