Say you enter your "Text" month in C1.
Try this: =SUMPRODUCT((TEXT(A1:A10,"mmmm")=C1)*B1:B10) You can add your path to the formula. FWIW, You can use the 3 letter abbreviation for the months, so that you don't have to type the full name, like "September".
