I recently downloaded an XL2007 addin from a website. The file arrived on my
hard drive with extension ZIP. Back on the website I right clicked the link and looked at properties: the link, as expected, was to a file with extension XLAM. I right clicked the link again, and tried Save Target As but again it offered a ZIP file. Of course, we know the new Office document format is really a collection of files in a zip wrapper, so I just renamed the file and used it. Odd that IE6 sees a ZIP file when pointed to a XLAM file. Even stranger is that FireFox saw an XLAM file. The same problem occurred with a Word addin file. Maybe this note will help someone. -- Bernard V Liengme www.stfx.ca/people/bliengme remove caps from email |
