I do not remember what was going on when this happened, but one day my Excel
all of the sudden no longer had a tool bar or menu. I cannot even right click in the cells to pull anything up. All I have basically is just the grid in the worksheet, and I can type in them, just no formatting, etc. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, and it continues to come up this way. It is not one particular file, it is every file I open in Excel. I am not sure if this is a glitch with my computer (the same files I try to open on other computers in our network work just fine) or if this is something in Excel that I need to correct. Any ideas? |

Hi JAB
Try to rename your xlb file 1. Close Excel 2. Do a search for .xlb in Windows (Use: search hidden files and folders) 3. Rename or delete the .xlb file or files (In 2002 the name = Excel10.xlb) 4. Start Excel Deleting the file or renaming will do no harm to your system Excel will create a new file for you. (You lost your customization remember that) If you make your own toolbars or add buttons to the others this file is important (backup it so you can restore it) -- Regards Ron de Bruin http://www.rondebruin.nl/tips.htm "JAB" wrote in message ... I tried that and still nothing. Literally I right click the entire page and
the only thing that comes up is when I am at the top of the page and Restore, Close, etc menu comes up. No place to select customize. JAB, search your machine for files of type XLB. This is where Excel stores
the toolbar settings. It is a hidden file, so you will have to set your search to search for such. Once you find it, delete it. Excel will create a new one. It sounds like your XLB file is corrupt.
