Default HOW TO USE THE { } IN A FORMULA

There are alternatives to using your formula (entered with ctrl-shift-enter).

One of them is:
=COUNTIF(A1:A20,"="&8)

And another:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A20=8))

Neither of these needs to be entered with: ctrl-shift-enter

Hi,

I was checking one of the formula that appears as example:
{=SUM(IF($A1:$A20=8,1,0))}

This is done by someone and the value return to 20 since all the cell have a
9 on it. But if I edit this cell, the { } will go away. and will give me the
#VALUE! message in the cell. can anyone tell me how I can add this?
