Hi Frederik,
Yes, Excel does create temporary files when you open a workbook. These files are used to store information while you're working on the workbook and are deleted when you close the workbook. By default, these temporary files are created in the same directory as the workbook you're working on. However, if you want to change the location where these temporary files are stored, you can do so by following these steps:
That's it! From now on, Excel will create temporary files in the folder you specified instead of the same directory as your workbook. This can be useful if you want to keep your temporary files separate from your working files or if you want to store them on a different drive for performance reasons.
