Default DropdownList/AutoFillUpList

Hi FC,

Early versions of Excel had only one type of DropDown. Later versions (I
think from 2000 on) have 2 types.

1st type is created from Forms toolbar and has very few properties.

2nd type is created from Control Toolbar and has lots of properties. If
typing an entry, it completes the entry by default. It also has some other
good features like in the properties set Style to frmStyleDropDownList then
the list appears as soon as you enter the edit box without clicking on the
arrow.

If you have not used this type of control before then after initially
creating it, if you need to go back to change properties etc then you need to
click on the design icon (Looks like a blue set square and pencil) first then
right click the object. (Click the design icon again after exiting properties
..)

You can get further info from Help. On the answer wizard tab, type in
activex and you will see help on Types of controls and their properties and
also About controls: when to use ActiveX or Forms toolbar controls.

Lots more good info available on chip Pearsons web site
http://www.cpearson.com/
(See search link at bottom of page)

Regards,

OssieMac

I got a lot of dropdown lists, but one is my specific concern : is a list of
names not alphabetically ordered (must be that way), with hundres of names on
it. Q : Can I include a feature of autofill on this dropdown list ? Purpose :
when I start writing the name it will find it before I finish it... THANKS.
