I have a loan worksheet that can have any number of years up to 30 to the
loan. I used conditional formating to blank out cells that are not needed for shorter term loans. The problem is that when I print out the worksheet Excel still wants to print out the entire 30 years even if the loan is for 5 years and all of the cells beyong 5 years are blanked out using conditional formating. I noticed that Exel had a loan calculater spreadsheet that was able to blank out cells that were not needed and it only printed out the cells that were visible. Does anyone know how to do this? |

One way is to apply an autofilter to a column which has values that
could be zero (or blank) beyond the term of the loan (eg "Amount Outstanding"). Using the filter pull-down, select Custom | Does not Equal | 0 (zero) then the unwanted rows will be hidden to allow you to print out. Hope this helps.
