Default Why 28E50 changes to 2.80E+51

Please help Why 28E50 changes to 2.80E+51. I tried to format them as text and
does not work.

Need to format as Text before entering the value.

Well, you would need to format the cell __before__ entering the
string. Most of us are not blessed with such foresight.

Alternatively, enter '28E50 -- that is, an apostrophe before 28E50.
Excel will not display the apostrophe. It simply tells Excel not to
interpret the text as a number.

Default Why 28E50 changes to 2.80E+51

Thank you but I am downloading data from another application into excel and I
cannot format the cells in advance since the transfer is being done
automatic. As soon as a hit import in the other application Excel open up
immediately and the data is transferred
I guess I will have to continue re-typing manually but is a pain since I
have a lot of cell like that.
