Default Japan characters in Excel 2007

I am exporting data from a SQL data base, many languages, including Japan,
and China characters. I export the data to a .csv file, and all looks fine
(text in word, or notepad) when i import into Excel all the characters
Japan, China, turn greek, english stays the same.

No mention of this anywhere.

I have the language pack installed, as I can see characters in other
programs.

HELP. . . any help would be great.

thanks.
