Default Soccer stat spreadsheet help

I'm building a soccer stat (Goals, assists, shots, fouls etc) spreadsheet. I
have it configured for a 10-year span. Each sheet represents a year and
there are about 60 teams of 30 players per year. I want to be able to track
team totals per year and lifetime and the same with players. I'm not sure
how to calculate the lifetime stat for each player. I would like to have the
player's lifetime stat on a separate spreadsheet and use a filter to access
the individual player.
I would like to see the yearly stats similar to the back of a baseball card.
I have to also take into consideration that a player can move from team to
team and also leave the league and I need to keep those stats. Is this even
feasible or would this be better in Access. Would a pivot table do the job?
I'm not to familiar with them. I'm open for any ideas or design changes.
Thanks in advance.

Are you planning in creating a shot chart? Excel should be able to handle
what you are asking to do. You should be able to use a pivot table. You
will want to create a datasheet which keeps all of the player records and
then you can run a pivot table from that.
