Default Area Map Bar Chart

I would like to make an "area Map" bar chart where the width of each
bar reflects one variable (say, market share) and the height of each
bar reflects another variable (say, cost). Does anyone know of a way
inside or outside of Excel to make a bar chart with variable bar
widths?
