Default Copying Cells

Wheni drag a formula across it automatically changes the cells in the
formula. How can i copy the formula across if the cells to which they refer
are not next to each other? Help. Got a large spreadsheet to complete in 3
hours and it will take all night at this rate!

Default Copying Cells

Hi Paul,

You can change the cell referencing in the formula from relative to absolute. For example, say you formula is '=A1'. If you put a
'$' in front of the 'A', as in '=$A1', that locks the formula to column 'A', but allows the row to change. Conversely, '=A$1' locks
the formula to row '1', but allows the column to change. And '=$A$1', locks the formula to cell 'A1'.

Cheers

Post back with the "step" value you're looking for.

Also, are the cells to reference in a row, or down a column?
