I have vendors supply me with information about their merchandise to be
loaded into my host. On that spread sheet are many required fields. What I would like to do is if they provide a part number in Column A for any number of rows I want them to be required to enter all of the required fields and only the required text for all of the remaining columns. I would appreciate some tips on how to do that. |

I assume there's specific values you want them to select.
Depending on the options you'ra talking about, you could probably just yuse data validation Data-Validation If you have a helper column with the list of allowed items, you can select these as your source range, and if thevendor attempts any other values, wil not alow entry... Thanks for the tip.
I looked at that option. 1.) the list of valid fields would need to be on another sheet for maintenance purposes, which does not seem to work. 2.) I only want to validate if there is a value in the first cell. All fields on the sheet others should be ignored unless there is a value in the first cell of each row being used by the vendor. It should go like this. Vendor enters a part number. After entering it they will be required to enter all of the other fields for only the values I provide. If the field is blank they should receive an error to enter the values upon saving or at a point in the entry process. No defaults should be provided, they must select data for all the fields.
