Default Set Up the Save Icon to "Gray Out" if No Changes since last Save

Does anyone know a way to set up Excel (2000) so that the Save button will
"light up" if a change has been made since the last save event ? Once the
Save has been done then the "Save" icon would gray out.

This is very useful, there is a Text editor that has this feature....
