Default Cursor Icon

A coworker asked me for help with excell (2003). While working in a
spreadsheet, her mouse would not respond. I looked at it and saw a CD ROM
icon next to the mouse icon, and in fact, it would not move. I hit
ctrl-alt-del and the task manager popped up, and I was able to use the mouse.
I then canceled the task manager and it took me back to the spreadsheet
where the mouse had a normal icon and was functioning properly. Any ideas
why this might have happened and how it can be prevented in the future.

Thanks as always,

JS

Generally happens when the system is trying to read from the CD Drive. Remove
any CD's that aren't required.
