Save as CSV and Retain Leading zero
I would like to Save As .csv and retain a leading zero for uploading into a
Yahoo shopper. When I format the cell using Custom 000000 and save the file as .csv and open it again the leading zero is missing. Sample number to save as .csv 012345 023456 034567 -- Thanks! Craig |

Save as CSV and Retain Leading zero
Hi Craig
This is an example of Excel being too 'helpful' - the leading zero shouldn't be dropped (try opening the csv file in Notepad after saving from Excel - the leading zero should still be there). It is only when you open a csv in Excel does Excel convert field values to what it considers are numerics (no leading zeroes). Best regards Richard Craig wrote: I would like to Save As .csv and retain a leading zero for uploading into a Yahoo shopper.
