I have helped develop a set of approximately 15 separate worksheets for
journal entries that feed into one master worksheet. We use a new set of files for each day of accounting entries. I use the search and replace function in the master file to update all of the formulas (almost 4,000 formulas) to look at the correct day's entries. I can do this fine on my PC, which is what I used in creating the original files. In searching and replacing over the entire document, this takes approximately 1-2 minutes. However, when trying to perform the same task on a separate machine on the same network, this process takes 5-6 hours to complete. I have verified that both machines are using the same version of Excel and patch sercurities as far as I know. Any other suggestions on how to speed up this process? |
