Default format color

When I format a cell for a color I do not see the color unless I am in print
preview. How can I see the color in regular view?

Mary,

I saw this response to a similiar problem.
********************
Maybe it's a windows setting...
Under Control Panel|Accessibility Options|Display Tab
Is "use high contrast" checked?
If yes, uncheck it.

Another thing you can try, as silly as this sounds, is to just reboot your
system. I've seen strange problems disappear after rebooting.
