Hi,

I have a user who is compiling a spreadsheet from various other spreadsheets
however when the user is pasting information from one into the other it is
creating hyperlinks in cells adjacent to the ones in which the data is being
pasted. If anyone has any ideas as to why and how to stop this from happening
it would be much appreciated as I cannot figure out what is going on. I have
added a macro to the sheet to remove all of the hyperlinks but after pasting
data in they are having to run again which is sometimes causing Excel to
crash.

Hi,

They are copying from other spreadsheets and word docs. The links however
are being created in an empty cell to the left of where the data is being
pasted.

Paul,

I am going to make a couple of assumptions. The data in Word is already a
(underlying) hyperlink, as is the data in Excel. That said, two things to try
would be Edit|Paste Special|Values should put the data in Excel without the
link. Or, in the case of either one, get them into Notepad to become plain
text, then copy it over (although that makes it more of a two-step process).
