Sometimes I type a formula and instead of being calculated, it is displayed
as a string of text. The same formula in another cell of the same sheet shows the expected and natural behavior. Any logical reason behind that weird behavior? Thanks, Stefano |

The cell is probably pre-formatted as text. Select the cell and use
Format | Cells | Number (tab) and select General. Then re-enter your formula, or double-click the cell as if to edit the formula then press Enter for the formatting change to take effect. Hope this helps. Pete smaruzzi wrote: Sometimes I type a formula and instead of being calculated, it is displayed as a string of text.
