Default Coping a formula

Hello -

I have a practice file in which I'm working out my formulas. When I copy to
the 'real' file, the practice file name is in the formula.

Will someone please tell me how to copy from one workbook to another without
referencing the original workbook.

Thanks to you all.

Copy the formula from the formula bar, not the cell.

Marc

Couple of methods.

1. Right-click on the sheet and "move or copy"

Checkmark "create a copy" to real file which is also open.

Will not create links to source file.

2. EditReplace

What: =

With: ^^^

Replace all.

Copy to target file then reverse the process in target file.

Close the practice file without saving changes or reverse there also.
