can i change "A" to "Name" in reference to columns
 

I am trying to change the column headings from alpha letters to actual words
such as "name", "address", "phone number", etc. Can this be done and if so
how?

No it can't be done.

Best thing to do is type your column headings in row 1.

Cannot be done

Use row 1 for your titles then select A2 and WindowFreeze Panes so row 1 is
always in view.

ToolsOptionsView. Uncheck Row and Column Headers if you don't want to see
them.
