Default Is there a limitation on the amount of data that can be hidden?

Hi Guys;
Running Excel 2000.
I ran into a problem when I tried to hide data (columns).
Working a spread sheet that is 151 columns wide by 765 rows high. In order
to make navigating and working the sheet easier, I decided to use the Hide
Columns feature to set aside column that were not pertenate to the task at
hand.
When I tried to hide the 84th column I get the message "Cannot shift objects
off sheet"
Does anyone have an idea what causes this error and if there is a simple
work-around?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,
Craig

You can hide all of the columns.
that usually happens if you try to do a copy/Insert row or column where all
of the rows or coluns have data in them.

Default Is there a limitation on the amount of data that can be hidden

or if just the last row / column has data in it.

Found the problem to be a "comment box" associated with a cell to the right
end of the active spread sheet was actually located waaaay over to the
right, near the end of the physical spreadsheet (column IV). Once I
reposition the comment box near the accociated cell, the program worked just
fine.

Thank you John Bundy for your help. I would never have associated the
problem with comment without you lead.

Craig
