To open a works spreadsheet in excel you must first save it a an excel spreadsheet. If you can open it in works goto "save as" and in the "save as type:" box select "Microsoft Excel Workbook (*.xls)" Enter your file name and click "Save" Now it should open as an excel file. (If you can not open it you will need for find some one that can and save it to a transportable media to get it to you machine.)
