Excel files can be opened in several ways, and from several types of
sources.........Please describe where you are trying to open them from, the
steps you are using.........and what happens....

sax

Where are the files stored?

Hard drive or removable media?

If the latter, try copying to Hard drive then open.

my steps are usually the ff. start then i choose the excel exec file from the
programs list,then click on it.

when i click on it i get an error message saying that, the file i am trying
to open is either corrupt or is a read-only file.
thank you.

Is it that you have EXCEL on the pendrive?.....if so, it's usually not
transferrable from computer to computer as it must be registered in the C
drive when being installed.........

If it's just a regular .xls file, try to open it on some other computer to
determine if the file is corrupt, or maybe of a newer version of Excel than
your computer has.
