Default can a sheet be locked, with exception of some cells in it

Hi !
I'd like to lock a sheet (and also the formulas in it) but leave a couple of
cells to be written over, is it possible in excel

Select the entire page, right click and select format cells then protection,
put a check in the locked box. Next select the cells you want them to be
able to change and follow the same procedure but uncheck the locked box.
Next password protect the sheet and make the appropriate selections based on
what you want the user to be able to do e.g. insert filters, select
protected boxes.
