Links not updating - autocalc is on
Hello. I am having the same issue that Hoochi Coochi Man inquired about on
1/12/05 (see below). However, the solution provided by Dave Peterson did not work on my spreadsheet. Instead excel kept asking (for each linked cell) to browse to the source document file location. Then it replaced the cell value to 0. We have the same format set up, that was/is working, to track our 2006 information and now we are trying to convert the 2006 document for the 2007 year and it is causing a problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help. Now google knows that it's working for you (at least for awhile!). Hoochi Coochi Man wrote: Hi Dave Yes, it did work so many thanks for the tip. I found that Ctl Alt F9 also worked but only forced a recalc then the sheets 'frooze' again. Your solution seems to be holding up so far. Post back with your results. This seems to be an infrequent problem, but it would nice to know if that suggestion works. Stragely, if I recreate the link - which is precisely the same- it works once but then becomes 'frozen' and will not update if the data is changed. Would be grateful if someone could help me remove this critical spanner from my works. Thanks Keith -- Dave Peterson -- Dave Peterson |

The first thing I'd do is look at the formula and see where that link points.
Then make sure that there's a file in that location--and make sure that the workbook has a worksheet (that's referred to in the formula). M Scott wrote: Hello. Yes, we already tried that. I actually used the formula auditing feature to
make sure that it knew where we wanted the info pulled from. "Dave Peterson" wrote: The first thing I'd do is look at the formula and see where that link points. I don't have another guess.
It's always worked fine for me whenever the "sending" workbook/worksheet exists at the location. M Scott wrote: Yes, we already tried that.
