Default Word (text) with a numeric value...PLEASE HELP!

I'm trying to make a word equal a price (i.e. CD=$1.25).
I want to do this so that if I type in "CD" Excel recognizes it to be equal
to $1.25

I'm working on putting together a new invoice system at work. Please help me.
