Default Help with Mulitplying Cells

Could some one tell me how to Mulitply B36 X C39 = A39? An example of what
i'm trying to do is: $195,000 (B36) X 1.5% (B39) = A39

If I understand in A39 enter

=B36*B39

In A39 put =B36*C39
You will need to format cell A39 as currency.
