Hi Danny Mac..........
You say clearly that A3 is a quantity, but do not so indicate for C3. If C3
is TEXT, then this formula in D3 may be of use.........

=REPT(C3,A3)

If you are saying that you want D3 to contain the result of A3 multiplied by
C3, then in D3 insert the formula =A3*C3.
