Default Saving database access log in and passwords

I am having a problem with accessing a SQL table and need some guidance.

I have created a new data connection using a SQL driver and I have entered a
name and password which we use for all data connections. That user name has
permissions to the tables in question.

I create a SQL query, return the results to Excel and then save the Excel
sheet.

When anyone else tries to open the sheet and refresh the query it is
prompting for name and password even though it should have been saved in the
query itself.

I have tried checking and unchecking the box for trusted connection

Am I missing something obvious?
