Hello,
The Excel version at work was finally upgrated to Excel 2003 this past week. In Excel 2000, I used to have the command "Protect/Unprotect sheet" identified in the toolbar. If the sheet was protected, the icon showed in text "Unprotect Sheet...", and when the sheet was not protected, the icon switched to read "Protect Sheet..." So when I would examine one sheet after another (quickly with Ctrl+PgDown) , it would indicate the status of each sheet at a glance. The icon did take a bit of space on the tolbar, but at least, the info was useful. However, in Excel 2003, I dragged the "Protect Sheet" command to the toolbar, but it now has a padlock icon in front of a range of cells. The problem for me is that this icon does not identify if the active sheet is protected or not, i.e. the icon is not altered from a protected sheet to an unprotected sheet. It never moves. Is there a way that I can retain the old way of showing the "Protect/Unprotect Sheet" icon? thanks and rgds André |

I take it the suggestion was on the mark.
Thanks for the feedback. All the regulars and I imagine casuals also, appreciate it. Best of the too-quickly-approaching season. To get the "Protect Sheet..." on the toolbar in Excel 2000
Tools/Customize Then, click on the Command Tab In the Categories window, highlight TOOLS Then, in the command window, find the UNPROTECT SHEET item, and then drag it up to your toolbar. You will notice how it will change depending on the protection status. Hope this helps André "vcff" wrote in message ...
